We are looking for a friendly, active kayaking club in the Tampa Bay area…?

any info.?

Here’s a few I found that might be what you’re looking for (I’d check if they have family events)

1) Kayaking & More Tampa Meet-up group (Meetup groups are usually pretty low key).

2) Tampa Sierra Club-does more than just hiking, they also go kayaking, canoeing and biking. The trip all depends on the trip leader! Next two events are:

3) Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers. These look like serious kayakers; you might want to go to their rescue training event so you have the right skills before taking the whole family. You have to pay to get their newsletter, but you can look at last month’s newsletter to see if they would interest you:

4) Florida Trails Association (all sorts of trails!):

I usually go to the Sea Kayak symposium in Charleston (held this weekend and I’m going!), great place to try out boats, take classes, meet folks who are in groups or want to start a kayaking group.
