Swiss Army Knife covered in tree sap?

Hi. My swiss army knife has sap on it. not just the blade, but all in the recesses too. Is there some way to clean it, like soaking it in something, or using some cleaner with a q-tip? thanks

WD-40 works well. Spray it on and let is soak until the sap wipes off clean.
